Dr. I. S. Gilada is a medical doctor, and India’s foremost specialist in HIV/AIDS. Among his numerous achievements, he has established and has been managing People’s Health Organisation (India) {formerly Indian Health Organisation (IHO)} since April 1982; which is acclaimed for its intervention projects in AIDS and prostitution. The U.S.-India Business Council named PHO the most outstanding Indian NGO in 1997. He had established Asian Solidarity against AIDS in 1991 and he is the Secretary General of ASAA since then.
