Between 1992 and 1993, Communal riots and series of bomb blasts had brought the city of Mumbai to its knees. People felt unsafe and started migrating to nearby places. The same was the case with the Sex workers but in turn they also led to the spread of HIV virus.
PHO warned the government then to take action against this but no action was taken and now the rate of people affected with HIV is double in some nearby parts of Mumbai compared to Mumbai…..
